Thanks to two grants work on the facade of the IOOF building has been completed. A grant of $3900 from the Special Projects Grants for Historic Preservation came from the Daughters of the American Revolution.  Funding for this project was made possible  through the Lucy Knox Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. The Community Foundation of Knox County and Mount Vernon awarded $2500 for the project as well.  The facade and north wall were repainted, restored and sealed  thereby protecting those faces from further damage. We thank those two institutions for their help and interest in this project.

Please go to the grant page link above for more information on the renovation project just completed.

Work is currently underway on the first floor interior as well. When Williams Florist moved out it became necessary to attend to repairs needed on the first floor that were covered up by the usage of that space by the previous tenants. When the work is completed Shakti Fit Yoga will use the entire first floor.

How to rent the meeting hall.restored-meeting-hall

The 3rd floor main hall boasts about 1,500 square feet restored to the building’s 1880s grandeur. However, it boasts modern conveniences like brand new heating and air conditioning, seating for 60 and an LED projector with screen. This space would be ideal for parties, receptions, meetings, performance or gallery space.

The space rents for $20 per hour with a two hour minimum or $100 for the day.
